HOW TO USE A FIRE EXTINGUISHER

Extinguishers come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, but the operation of each is similar.
There is an easy acronym to remember to use extinguishers:
P.A.S.S. which stands for Pull, Aim, Squeeze, and Sweep.

PULL

Pull the pin at the top of the extinguisher that keeps the handle from being accidentally pressed.

AIM

SQUEEZE

Stand approximately 8 feet away from the fire and squeeze the handle to discharge the extinguisher. If you release the handle, the discharge will stop.		 Sq2-thm.jpg - 7.13 K - Click here to see a larger image.

SWEEP
