HOW TO USE A FIRE EXTINGUISHER
Extinguishers come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, but the operation of each is similar.There is an easy acronym to remember to use extinguishers:
P.A.S.S. which stands for Pull, Aim, Squeeze, and Sweep.

PULLPull the pin at the top of the extinguisher that keeps the handle from being accidentally pressed. |

AIMAim the nozzle toward the base of the fire. |

SQUEEZEStand approximately 8 feet away from the fire and squeeze the handle to discharge the extinguisher. If you release the handle, the discharge will stop. |

SWEEPSweep the nozzle back and forth at the base of the fire. After the fire is out, watch it carefully since it may re-ignite! |
